Homework Policy

"And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord not to men, Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ" Col. 3:23-24

Elementary Students

Many classes will be sending home information and worksheets that will help the parent know what the Child is learning.True learning will take place when a child incorporates these materials into their daily home school work for learning and review. Its only fair to the teacher, the student and the class as a whole if everyone takes that class seriously and learns the material. It will be worth the small amount of additional work if we are also teaching our children diligence in the process. It is up to the parent to explain the benefits of learning the material presented and to see that the work is accomplished.

Middle and High School Students

These Students will be expected to work very diligently to complete all assignments and to learn the material, especially in the foreign languages, science courses and courses receiving high school credit, This material will build in skill and knowledge level and it would be very easy to get behind if the assignments were not learned systematically. Please read the class descriptions and expectations before signing up for classes.

We will expect the students to be prepared to participate in class and to turn in all assignments and tests on time. The students will need to keep up with their assignments even during the weeks when there are no co-op classes. A detailed Syllabus will be given on the first day of class.

If the teacher/facilitator feels the student is not keeping up with assignments, he/she will notify the parent. It will then be the parents responsibility to follow up with their student. If this becomes a recurrent, unresolved problem, the student may be asked to withdraw from the class.

Dress Code
We do not have a specific list of items that students may not wear.  We simply ask that each parent and student try their best to exemplify Christ in their lives by wearing clothing that would honor Him.  Also, we want parents to encourage their children to be considerate of others who might find certain thing offensive.  If the Leadership Team gets complaints, a specific code will be established.

Discipline Policy
Co-op students should read and heed all co-op Rules and Guidelines.   We do not anticipate having any behavior problems with our students.  However, general discipline policies must be set.  Please understand that blatant defiance will not be tolerated at any level.      (the full policy is available in your enrollment packets)

Attendance
It is our prayer that we will all have a servant attitude and will view the co-op as an opportunity to minister to one another.   Parents and students must take their commitment to the co-op seriously.  Consistent attendance is vital for the co-op to run efficiently.   There is a great loss in classroom instruction with each absence.   Punctuality is also vital to the success of the co-op. It is very disruptive to the class and unfair to the teacher and fellow classmates if a student is late.  Please be considerate of this concern.    (the full policy is available in your enrollment packet)

 Fundraising
We purchase various types of equipment and supplies for the classes and therefore will conduct various fundraisers to help with that effort.   All families are required to participate in each fundraiser or to donate a specific amount of money in lieu of their participation.  The amount of the donation will be determined prior to the beginning of each drive so that families can decide if they would prefer selling items or donating money.

Set-up/Clean-up
We are very fortunate to have a facility volunteered for our use that is rent free allowing us to keep our fees low.   It is our policy that each and every adult and child help with set-up and clean up each week to show our appreciation and maintain a good relationship with our host facility.    We will leave each space we use in as good or better shape then we found it.     Students will participate in clean up to gain a better appreciation for respecting other people's property and if they have to clean up their own mess they will be less likely to make a mess in the first place.

Full Policies are available in your Handbook.
